Martha Zimet graduated with a BFA in Art & Design, mentored by Professors John Wood, Harland Snodgrass, and others. Upon graduating, Martha moved to California and received her MFA from UC Berkeley. True to her multidisciplinary AU roots, Martha embarked on a successful career in Silicon Valley, as a software developer and architect for companies such as Sun Microsystems and Pixar in their early days. Martha holds four US patents and several international patents created during her long tenure at Nokia. Martha retired to her 41 acre property in rural Nevada.
Martha's estate plans will create an endowed scholarship for students in the School of Art & Design. Convinced that artists' growth and potential are not accurately reflected in grades assigned, Martha's scholarship will be awarded to students who demonstrate artistic merit regardless of GPA. Thank you Martha, for crafting a scholarship that meets students' needs and reflects your values!
